CK Insurance originally started as the Owners-Operators Mutual Co-Operative which was formed in 1979 by a group of truck drivers (owner-operators) who were concerned with the high cost of insurance. The owner-operators realized that by pooling their resources they could cut the cost of insurance.

In the early 1990’s the Owners-Operators Mutual Co-Operative added the deductible buy down program to further assist in keeping the costs of insurance down.

In 1997 the Owners-Operators Mutual Co-Operative purchased CK Insurance Inc. and CK Insurance Brokers Ltd. allowing the firm to offer full transportation coverage to meet the demands of the ever changing industry.
